Terms & Agreement

Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: June 2026

By submitting a firearm, firearm component, accessory, or other item for service, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the following terms and conditions.

Deposits & Payments

A minimum 50% deposit is required before any work begins.

Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered, preparation work has begun, or services have been performed.

Final payment is due upon completion and before pickup or return shipment.

Projects not paid in full within 30 days of completion may be subject to storage fees.

Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring all items submitted for service are legal to own, possess, and transfer under applicable federal, state, and local laws.

All firearms must be unloaded before being shipped or delivered to Second Sons Cerakote & Laser.

Customers are responsible for properly packaging and protecting items during shipment.

Second Sons Cerakote & Laser is not responsible for damage caused during shipping to our facility.

Disassembly & Assembly Policy

Customers are strongly encouraged to provide firearms and components fully disassembled prior to service.

Second Sons Cerakote & Laser is not responsible for damage, wear, missing components, malfunctions, or performance issues resulting from customer-supplied assemblies, previous modifications, or improperly installed parts.

Assembly and disassembly services, when offered, may incur additional charges.

Gunsmithing Disclaimer

Second Sons Cerakote & Laser is not a certified gunsmith.

Services provided are limited to Cerakote application, laser engraving, stippling, and related cosmetic customization.

No repair, safety inspection, accuracy testing, reliability testing, or gunsmithing services are included unless specifically agreed upon in writing.

FFL Compliance

All firearm transactions are conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Customers are responsible for contacting Second Sons Cerakote & Laser prior to shipping any serialized firearm.

Second Sons Cerakote & Laser reserves the right to refuse any item that cannot be legally accepted, transferred, possessed, or serviced.

NFA-Regulated Items

Second Sons Cerakote & Laser does not currently accept:

  • Short-Barreled Rifles (SBRs)
  • Short-Barreled Shotguns (SBSs)
  • Suppressors/Silencers
  • Machine Guns
  • Any other National Firearms Act (NFA) regulated items

unless specifically authorized and documented in accordance with applicable law.

Cerakote Finishes

Cerakote is a durable protective coating; however, all finishes will experience wear over time depending on use and environmental conditions.

Color appearance may vary due to lighting, screen settings, material composition, and manufacturing variations.

Exact color matching cannot be guaranteed.

Laser Engraving

Customers are responsible for ensuring they have permission to reproduce any artwork, logo, trademark, or copyrighted material submitted for engraving.

Minor variations in engraving depth, color, and appearance may occur due to differences in materials and manufacturing processes.

Stippling Services

Stippling permanently alters polymer surfaces and cannot be reversed.

Customers acknowledge that stippling involves permanent material removal and texture modification.

Second Sons Cerakote & Laser is not responsible for dissatisfaction resulting from texture preference after work has been completed and approved.

Customers requesting pistol frame stippling must provide an empty magazine for fitment and testing purposes.

Turnaround Times

All turnaround times are estimates only.

Completion times may vary due to workload, material availability, curing schedules, equipment maintenance, shipping delays, or unforeseen circumstances.

Second Sons Cerakote & Laser does not guarantee specific completion dates unless agreed upon in writing.

No Refund Policy

Due to the custom and permanent nature of Cerakote, engraving, and stippling services, all sales are final.

No refunds will be issued once work has begun.

Warranty Disclaimer

Second Sons Cerakote & Laser warrants only the quality of workmanship associated with the coating or customization service performed.

No warranty is expressed or implied regarding firearm function, reliability, safety, accuracy, suitability for use, or compatibility with aftermarket components.

Customers assume all responsibility for the use of modified firearms and accessories.

Storage & Abandoned Property

Completed projects not claimed within 30 days of notification may be subject to storage fees.

Items remaining unpaid or unclaimed for more than 90 days may be considered abandoned property and may be disposed of or transferred in accordance with applicable Idaho and federal law.

Limitation of Liability

Second Sons Cerakote & Laser shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use, misuse, ownership, transportation, modification, or performance of any item serviced.

Customer liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service performed.
